Yes, patients are seen by Provider Referral only. Even if your insurance does not require a referral to be seen, many insurances do require a referring provider on claims for specialty practices. In order to meet the requirements for the majority of insurance companies our office is by referral only.

What age range is seen by the practice?

Dr. Shaefer sees ages 12 yrs and up. Dr. Hughes see ages 18 yrs and up.

What does the office need to make an appointment for a new patient?

We need a referral from an MD/DO provider as well as your demographic and insurance information.

Are you in network with my insurance?

We are in network with most insurances, please see our link for insurances we are not in network with.

How long should I expect to be in the office for my appointment?

New Patient appointments, Dopplers, EMGs, and EEGs take 45 minutes to an hour. If filling out paperwork in the office, you will need to be here 30 - 45 minutes prior to your appointment time. A new patient that is filling out paperwork while here may be in the office for an hour and a half to two hours.

Why do I have a bill if I paid at the time of service?

Other than copays, the payment collected at the time of service is an estimate of your co-insurance or deductible and may differ slightly from what your insurance company leaves for you to pay.
