new patient Arrival

For new patients, if arriving with paperwork fully completed, you may arrive 15 minutes or more before your appointment time. If planning to fill out your paperwork at the office, we ask that you arrive at least 30 minutes before your appointment, or sooner if more time will be needed.  Our office is located at 1210 Roy Road in Augusta near Doctor's Hospital.

Patient Policies

There are number of policies that we ask all of our patients to follow.  These are all available on our Policies page.  They cover such issues as arrival time, appointment cancellation, no-show policies, and billing policies.  Please take some time to become familiar with these policies as they pertain to all of our patients.

Out of courtesy to other patients, if you arrive after your appointment time we may ask that you reschedule your appointment and you may be assessed a no show fee.

For return patients, we ask that you arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time. Please note that your scheduled appointment time is the time you are scheduled to see the doctor.  It may take time prior to that to update information and visit with the nurse.  Please account for this time when deciding when to arrive.

Nerve Conduction and Electromyography (EMG) is a two part test that will be done by a physician. Please allow an hour. Please do not wear any lotion, oils, or creams on the extremities to be tested. Patients who are referred for Nerve Conduction and EMG only are asked to please download, print, and fill out the EMG Form.  Bring the completed form with you to your first visit.  Do not mail, fax, or email this completed form.  The form can be found on the Downloads page of this site, or just follow the link above.  Please also familiarize yourself with our Patient Policies regarding appointment cancellation, no-show, and billing policies.

The Nerve Conduction portion is first and involves small shocks to the nerves in the arms or legs to record how your nerves conduct electricity. The second part, the EMG, uses a small needle to listen to your muscles. It does not give any shocks. This test is used to diagnose common neuropathies, such as polyneuropathy, carpal tunnel syndrome, and ulnar neuropathy. It can also diagnose radiculopathy, myopathy, and neuromuscular junction disorders.
